Sewanee's First Canine Musical Sit Competition

All About Sewanee AngelFest Canine Musical Sit
5:00 -6:30 PM Friday, September 26, 2014
Angel Park, Downtown Sewanee, TN
Please come watch even if you don't have a dog. It's fun!

It’s just like musical chairs only for dogs. Owners walk dogs in a circle. When the music starts, everyone walks. When it stops, sit your dogs. Last dog to sit is eliminated. This is repeated until there is one dog left.

There are three Preliminary Rounds at 5:00, 5:30 and 6:00 PM. There are only 10 spots open in each of these rounds so come sign up to reserve your space. Registration opens at the Musical Sit table at Angel Park at 4:00PM.

Winner of each preliminary round is rewarded with a bag of Angel Dog Bisquits handmade and donated by Connie Keetle. These are the yummy angel biscuits that are available every day at Mooney's Market and Emporium.

Preliminary Rounds' first and second place pooches are eligible to return at 6:30 to participate in the Championship Round. There are 6 spots available in the Championship rounds, so If for some reason the first and second place winners of the Preliminary Rounds don’t return at 6:30, then third place winners are eligible to enter the Championship match and so on. So even if you don’t win first or place in the Preliminary Rounds, please return at 6:30 just in case. You may have a shot!

Winner of the Championship Round will receive a self-watering dog bowl compliments of the Phil White Dog Park.

Guidelines

There are 10 spots in each of the three preliminary rounds.
There will be 6 spots in the Championship Round.

Doggie Etiquette

We want you to bring your dog to join in the fun at AngelFest. Please remember a few simple guidelines for doggie etiquette so that we may do this every year:

  • Dogs on leash only. Leashes 6 ft or shorter. No flexi-leashes please.
  • Respect other folks space. Keep your dog focused on you.
  • Please bring baggies and pick up after your pooch.

                              Thank you!

Participant Activity List for Angel Fest 2014

Here's a list of all the participants and their kids' and dogs' activities for this year. We will have the Treasure Hunt again like last year. Buy a card by donating money or food to CAC and then get the card stamped at each booth at the festival. Full cards go into a drum for the Treasure Chest Drawing at 7:00 PM. Winning card wins the entire chest of fantastic items from local businesses. Last year's chest was worth around $600.

Sewanee is long been known as a dog friendly place. If you have a well behaved dog that enjoys social occasions, leash 'em up and bring 'em along. There will be a Musical Sit competition held by the Phil White Dog Park. Dogs and their humans walk on leash in a circle to music. When the music stops, the last dog to sit is out. This is repeated till there is one dog left...the winner. Enter as many times as you like, as it will be repeated every half hour during the festival with a Championship Round for the winners of previous rounds at 6:30 PM.

Animal Harbor is sponsoring a Paw & Hand Print Painting booth. Bring your child or your dog or both and have them make their mark; then Amanda will turn it into a colorful painting you can hang on your wall.

You'll recognize lots of folks returning from last year. The Bounce House will be back along with helium balloons from Taylors and Face Painting from Ivy Wild. Whether your child is creative or athletic or just likes to have fun, there are lots of great activities throughout the festival. Here's the list.
